IN CONVERSATION with EMMY AWARD WINNER, Jeff Daniels. Stage and Screen Star Jeff Daniels joins Projects with Jason's Artistic Director/Founder, J. Jason Daunter in an intimate conversation about Mr. Daniels' career. Teachers will get to pre-submit their questions to Jeff and students should come with their questions ready. From high school performer, to the role of Harry Dunne from the legendary motion picture Dumb and Dumber, to a year in the role of Atticus Finch on the Broadway production of "To Kill a Mockingbird", Jeff brings his hard work and work ethic to this special conversation for the students and teachers at the 2021 British Columbia Provincial Thespian Festival.
JEFF DANIELS BIO: Mr. Daniels most recent Broadway appearance included a year’s run as Atticus Finch (Tony Nomination) in Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Other Broadway Credits: Blackbird (Tony Nomination), God of Carnage (Tony Nomination), Redwood Curtain, 5th of July (Drama Desk Award). Off-Broadway: many credits as a member of Circle Repertory Company including Dalton Trumbo’s Johnny Got His Gun (Obie Award). As Founder and Resident Playwright of Michigan’s Purple Rose Theatre Company, his plays have been contenders for the American Theatre Critics Association Best New Play Award. He has appeared in over 80 major Motion Pictures and he won an Emmy for Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom and another for Godless. Mr. Daniels recently starred in The Comey Rule on Showtime playing former FBI Director James Comey.
J. Jason Daunter
Jason has spent the last fifteen years working professionally on the road and in New York City on Broadway. His Broadway management credits include To Kill a Mockingbird starring Jeff Daniels, Meteor Shower starring Amy Schumer, A Doll’s House, Part 2 starring Laurie Metcalf, Shuffle Along, Wicked, Glory Days, and Cyrano De Bergerac starring Kevin Kline. National Tours include: A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder, Wicked, Chicago, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and A Christmas Carol. Jason has been fortunate to work closely with theatre luminaries such as Meryl Streep, Chita Rivera, Steve Martin, Aaron Sorkin, Chris Cooper, Laura Benanti, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, and directors from Bartlett Sher, Joe Mantello to Jerry Zaks and George C. Wolfe. On the national level of Educational Theatre Jason is the recipient of The Educational Theatre Association’s President; Founders Awards. Jason’s philanthropic work includes creating/directing benefits for The Educational Theatre Foundation and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Jason is the Founder and Artistic Director of Projects with Jason. Projects with Jason is currently producing live streams giving high school students and educators the opportunity to perform and collaborate with working professionals. Responding to schools being cancelled Projects with Jason produces, Virtual Cabaret, Artists in Conversation, and Tech Table.
